What is Reality?

Reality is given the definition by Websters Dictionary as "The totality of real things and events".  By this definition, everything that is happening to you and around you is reality.  However in my opinion, reality is whatever you want it to be.  You as an individual have the ability to shape and manipulate your own reality in many ways.  Everyone that is involved in the reality that makes up everyday life has the ability to shape there own reality.  Therefore reality can only truly be defined on an individual level.  Their reality may be different from what you perceive as reality.  And these different perceptions could have been shaped by many different things such as experiences, way of life, and state of mind.

Rhetoric Revealed

In this cartoon there are two men standing with one man holding a sign that says Pro-Life.  From this observation one can tell that the author is addressing the issue of abortion.  Abortion is a subject that can appeal to all three types of rhetoric: logos, pathos, and ethos. The illustrator also places his or her opinion on the matter with dialogue depicted in the cartoon.  The man carrying the Pro-Life sign has a speech bubble and is addressing the other man depicted with these words, "Touch my sign and I'll kill you...".  This could be interpreted to mean one of two things.  Either the illustrator is Pro-Choice or he or she does not agree with how those who support Pro-Life handle the issue.
